Please join us for the
21st Annual Sunland Springs Village
Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament
Monday March 14th through Saturday March 19th, 2022 Hosted by the SSV Tennis Club
 Once again, we look forward to welcoming Mixed Double competitors back to Sunland Springs Village for a fun filled week of competition. Get your entries in early!
All brackets will have a Championship and Consolation side with a guarantee of two matches.
We welcome all 1.5 to 4.5+ and 75+ level mixed competitors from EVSTL Clubs.
Daily play will start at 8:00 am running through to the last matches at 3:30 pm. Most first round matches will occur on Monday and Tuesday with semi- finals on Friday and Championship / Consolation finals on Saturday.
Food and Beverage services will be available all week so please join us for breakfast and lunch.

SSV 2022 Tennis Tournament – Revised Rules Dates: Monday March 14 – Saturday March19, 2022
Location: Sunland Spring Village – North Courts (1-6) and South Courts (7- 12).
Entries:
  • This is a Mixed Doubles Tournament.
  • Players should enter at their current Recreation, Social or TenCap
    playing level and be a EVSTL member.
  • One level of difference between partners is allowed. The team would
    play at the higher team member’s level.
  • Entries will be accepted on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. We will
    make every effort to accommodate all teams.
  • TenCap / Recreation / Social levels may play together in the
    tournament and must be from the same Club. No affiliates please.
  • Players are guaranteed two matches.
  • We will review a player’s status with their club if there are any
    questions regarding playing level.
    Draws:
  • Draw Levels will be 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 4.5+ and 75+.
  • Brackets will be formed as needed depending on entries.
  • The 4.5 bracket is for players that have a playing level of 33 – 27 and
    4.5+ level of 26 or less.
  • There will be a consolation bracket for all teams losing in their first
    match.
Entry Fees:
  • $30.00 per player / $60.00 per team.
  • All Clubs are requested to send one payment for all of their Club
    entries.
  • Refunds will not be made after March 7th, 2022.
    Schedule of Play:
  • The first match each day will begin at 8:00 am with the last match starting at 3:30 pm.
  • Each match will be scheduled for 1.5 hours.
  • At the discretion of the tournament directors, teams may be in default
    if they are more than 10 minutes late reporting for a scheduled match.
    Registration:
  • All scheduled players must check in daily thirty minutes before their scheduled match.
  • Registration table will be at the SSV North Courts. Rain Delays:
  • Play will resume as soon as possible after a rain delay at the discretion of the Tournament Directors
  • Players are asked to keep in touch with tournament officials and monitor the website during and after rain delays.
    Competition:
  • Matches are 2 sets with a 3rd set tie breaker.
  • All levels will play a 7 - point set tie breaker.
  • All levels will play a 10 - point match tie breaker.
• All matches will be 2nd deuce with game point served gender to gender except in the Championship finals on Saturday where they will be played out.
Rules of Play:
  • Substitutions will be allowed prior to the first match on Monday or Tuesday.
  • Substitute players must have the same playing level and be from the same East Valley Tennis Club.
  • A team that withdraws before its first match is considered withdrawn from the tournament.
  • Injury time outs will be limited to ten (10) minutes.
  • If a player is incapable of completing a match, they will be considered
    retired from the match.
  • Warm – ups will be a maximum of seven (7) minutes which will
    include practice serves.
  • Players will call their own lines.
  • Players are responsible to check posted on-site draw sheets or
    website for their next match.
  • Players should be aware of foot faults.
    Awards:
  • Championship final
    • 1st Place – Medals and $50 / player
    • 2nd Place – Medals and $40 / player
  • Consolation final
• 3rd Place – Medals and $30 / player
Critical Dates:
  • Monday February 28th – SUBMIT FINAL CLUB TEAM ENTRIES. Blank Spreadsheet are available at https://sites.google.com/site/ssvtournament/Entry
  • Monday February 28th - Entry Fee Check from Clubs must accompany team submission payable to ‘SSV Tennis Club’.
  • Friday March 4th - Draws will be completed.
